Against The Rules
Sure, it’s got probably the worst podcast cover art of all time, but in this case, ironically enough, don’t judge a book by its cover. Considering that it’s a podcast by America’s favourite non-fiction writer Michael Lewis of Moneyball, The Big Short, and The Fifth Risk fame, and only seven episodes in he’s off to an incredibly strong start. Lewis explores a variety of topics including what’s happened to the idea of fairness in today’s America.

Blackout
Set as a narrative apocalyptic thriller, Blackout is the tale of a small-town radio DJ trying to deal with a sudden and mysterious nation-wide power grid failure and his attempts to protect his family. Blackout features actor Rami Malek, better known from Mr. Robot and Bohemian Rhapsody. If you’re looking for a fun narrative escape, this mostly under 30 minute per episode podcast might be the perfect break for your commute.

Uncover: The Village
In its third season, CBC’s (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) Uncover podcast explores one of Canada’s biggest crime stories in recent decades. The story of serial killer Bruce McArthur who killed 8 victims in and around Toronto’s Gay Village. A fascinating listen if you’re into the True Crime genre of podcasts.
