Find That Pod # 110

Five Great New Podcasts

Welcome to the 110th edition of Find That Pod.

As always, welcome subscribers new and old! No time to waste this week. Let’s get straight to the podcasts…

The Forgiven

The act of forgiving has for some strange reason gone out of style. We now live in a culture where even copious, and sincere apologies are often not good enough for both personal and cultural forgiveness. Although this podcast takes a more religious bent on the idea of forgiveness through the retelling of various bible stories, it roots down to the core concept of why it’s so hard to forgive others and what we can do to get better at it.

The Unforgiven is a show interspersed with dramatic retellings of bible stories, but also personal stories from everyday people that are willing to talk about their experiences with the act of forgiving or being forgiven. Give it a listen!

Limetown

The premise is simple, but I assure you, the story is not. But it sure makes for one hell of a compelling fiction podcast. I honestly can’t really tell you much about this show without spoiling everything, so I will leave at this: Ten years ago, over three hundred men, women and children disappeared from a small town in Tennessee, never to be heard from again.

Now go listen to it and get sucked into the story as I did.

Ivy League Murders

Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Brown, all members of the elite college conference known a the Ivy League. They may be known around the world as the breeding grounds of generations of political leaders, future billionaires and some of the most brilliant minds ever to be educated, but sometimes there are more than a few psychopaths roaming the halls of these storied institutions. This true-crime podcast takes on some of the most haunting murder cases whose connections to the Ivy League run deep.

Get Sleepy: Sleep Meditation and Stories

I’ve been having a lot of trouble sleeping lately. Probably for a variety of reasons. But what I’ve discovered is that some audio helps me fall asleep more quickly. Such is the case with this terrific podcast that is designed to calm your mind with a combination of sleep meditation techniques and soothing stories to allow for that magical drift into the land of dreams.

A.I. Nation

There aren’t a lot of episodes in this relatively new podcast yet, but what I like about it is that it’s different than other shows I’ve listened to about the topic of Artificial Intelligence. Instead of taking a speculative approach about what may come in the near and long-term future, A.I. Nation explores how artificial intelligence is already changing our society. A truly outstanding podcast you should listen to if you have any interest in technology or A.I. systems.
