So after last night’s UK election results I guess the UK is doing that whole Brexit thing after all eh? What an utterly colossal shitshow that whole situation is. Oh well, at least it continues the theme of the world spiraling into an uncontrollable tailspin of doom. Wouldn’t want to pull out of that now would we??! As the TikTok kids would say… “ok, am I in a stressful situation?”
To help everyone keep their sanity, here are 5 podcasts I’m recommending for you this week. Go forth and listen your hearts out.

The Jordan Harbinger Show
I have to say, that I’m almost embarrassed that I didn’t discover this podcast on my own. No, in fact, the host, Jordan Harbinger reached out with a nice note asking how one could be featured in the newsletter. Welp, it didn’t take more than listening to a few episodes that I knew I had to include him here for all of you to check out. Jordan is a former Wall Street lawyer, now turned journalist and podcaster, and whatever brought him to change careers it certainly looks like he made the right decision.
The Jordan Harbinger show is an interview show that features some of the world’s top performers and intriguing figures. Jordan’s interview skills are incredible and with each interview, he seems to tease out things from his guests that you can tell no ordinary interviewer may be able to get. Working through some of his older shows, you can tell that Jordan’s notoriety for hosting an amazing show has grown as he’s been able to land increasingly more famous interview guests. This podcast is for anyone with even a grain of intellectual curiosity about other people and a wide variety of topics. Give it a listen now, you won’t regret it.

Why It Matters
From the people on the Council on Foreign Relations (a non-partisan thinktank) comes a news podcast that tackles various topics in the news that aims to start a conversation about the need for Americans to better understand the world. This podcast is still just getting going but seems to have a lot of potential with its relatively short but informative format.

America Dissected
From the folks at Crooked Media comes a new podcast that delves into the world of healthcare in America, which as many of you know is kind of a nightmare, or so I hear. Dr. Abdul El-Sayed explores various topics here including the spread of superbugs, anti-vaxxers, the Flint water crisis, and more. Super high production value on this podcast and definitely worth a listen if you have any interest in the super complicated behemoth that is the American healthcare system.

A fabulous podcast for any audiophile or really anyone interested in the history and behind-the-scenes of some of the world’s most recognizable and interesting sounds. Hosted by Dallas Taylor, a former sound designer with a long and successful career, the Twenty Thousand Hertz podcast is full of so many treasures in its archive, I would recommend going back to the very start of its now more than eighty episode run and work your way from the very start of the show.
