Five Great New Podcasts

Welcome to the 73rd edition of Find That Pod.

Happy Friday everyone! Hope your week was tolerable, if not downright good. As the political season begins to ramp up in the U.S. I’ll be including a bit more political podcast suggestions in the coming weeks. Just my small contribution to you know, trying to save the world.

As always, welcome new subscribers, and a quick reminder that I do have a referral program that you can use to tell people about this newsletter while earning some sweet rewards.

Here are this week’s podcasts:

And That’s Why We Drink

You’re probably wondering if I mislabeled this podcast as belonging to the “Comedy” category, but nope, I did not. Because after all, what’s more hilarious than a combination of true crime and the paranormal? Don’t worry, you won’t have to listen to more than an episode to get why this podcast is actually pretty funny. Hosted by Em Schulz and Christine Schiefer who also co-hosts the “Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet” podcast which I’ve previously featured here, And That’s Why We Drink is a highly entertaining mix of fact, fiction, and laughs.

The Axe Files with David Axelrod

David Axelrod is most famous for being a key figure in helping Barack Obama be elected both times. Serving as both chief strategist and Senior Advisor to the President, Axelrod has now taken his career in the podcasting direction. In 2015 he started hosting The Axe Files and has honed his interviewing skills to a sharp point by way of in-depth conversations with various political figures.

Freedom Lifestyle ~ What’s Your Free?

Flexible work. It’s what a lot of us, as well as the slave-driving corporations we work for, have started to wake up to as a viable means of employment. I guess we have COVID-19 to thank for that?? The trend towards remote working and flexible work has been growing for years, but we now have our inflection point. The host of this podcast, Sam Laliberte interviews all manners of digital nomads and those of us who are increasingly self-employed to get all manner of tips on this new lifestyle.

Nudge

Admittedly, this may be a bit of a niche podcast, but given my own interests as well as those of us who do work in marketing and retail fields, I wanted to feature this fantastic podcast this week. It’s hosted by Phill Agnew and is all about the psychology of consumers, and their buying behaviours in today’s modern world. Terrific podcast guests add to the body of knowledge of how consumers make their buying choices and how you can benefit from that knowledge, even if you’re running a small one-person business.

Tiny Leaps, Big Changes

The unexamined life is not worth living – that’s what what Socrates said during his trial for impiety and corrupting the youth, when he chose death rather than exile. They represent a noble choice, but also speak to the idea that it’s good to examine one’s own choices and behaviours. That’s what the Tiny Leaps, Big Chances podcast aims to do. It shares simple strategies you can start to think about and implement on a regular basis to get you closer to your goals. A short but useful podcast.
